It has been a terrifying week for Boston. My thoughts go out to all the victims and their loved ones of the Boston Marathon bombing. I wish you peace and recovery.
It almost feels strange to get out of the house again but what better way to enjoy the brisk outdoors than by coming by the Arnold Arboretum today to view the maple trees?! Today, from 1:00-3:00pm I will be hosting a "How to Photograph Maple Trees" workshop along with several other talented crew members from the Arnold Arboretum and the Boston Parks Department who will be giving tours of the maples, offer science activities for children and more!

Today is a sad day. Today I found out my dear friend April Letteney Smith lost her fight with cancer. April fought so hard!
This is one of my favorite pictures of April that I took on her wedding day. April and Jeff's wedding was the first wedding I photographed. I was so nervous. I vividly remember April telling me "Don't even worry about the pictures Sheryl, all that matters on that day is that I am marrying the man I love." April really put what matters into perspective, she always did. What April said to me on that day resonated deeply. She has always had a way of seeing what is really important in life and never taking things for granted.
Rest well dear April. We pray for you, your family, Smitty, and your babes.

Wow, being accepted into the juried MassArt Auction never gets old! More people are applying to be in the exhibit than ever before, so the competition is huge. I am super excited to announce that this will be my 10th time showing in the annual auction!
The MassArt Auction is one of the largest visual art auctions in New England and a destination for collectors seeking to view and purchase exceptional contemporary art in a festive environment. Over its twenty-three year history, it has raised millions of dollars to support student scholarships, academic programming, and participating artists.
The auction also marks the anniversary of when I met my husband, Fish McGill, needless to say, this is a very exciting time in our lives. Since we met, this will be our 6th time showing in the auction together!
Please come and join us for the opening, and FREE reception on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 or if you can afford the ticket, join us for the live auction on April 13th, remember, the cost of the ticket goes to a good cause.

I am excited to announce a new show I am in at the Lincoln Arts Project. Come check out my new (drawing) work at LAP! The opening and dance party reception will be this Friday, September 28th from 7-10.
Inspired by a digital age that encourages the remixing of musical content, this show attempts to recreate that same energy and practice into the visual medium. New Spins is a curated collection of visual re-interpretations of album artwork of the past from 25 local artists including my amazing and talented husband, Fish McGill!
